C.A.R., in cooperation with NAR, has issued a Call-for-Action in support of extending the First-time Homebuyer Tax Credit beyond its November 30th expiration date. Also, this year C.A.R., with lots of help from grassroots REALTORS® successfully fought several potentially harmful proposals, on issues like independent contractor withholding, access to property profiles, point-of-sale measures, transfer taxes, and others.

On March 4, 2009, the Obama Administration released detailed guidelines for homeowners to help them determine if they qualify for the Administration’s new Making Home Affordable plan. The plan's two goals are to help homeowners refinance and take advantage of lower interest rates and to help homeowners who are at risk of foreclosure.
